The College of Nursing of the Medical University of South Carolina educates nurses in an interprofessional environment to change lives, and provides proactive leadership to improve health outcomes, eliminate health disparities and advance the nursing profession. The College of Nursing is committed to providing evidence-based education; developing, testing, and disseminating nursing knowledge; demonstrating excellence in nursing practice; sharing expertise and leadership through service to communities and professional organizations; and promoting interprofessional teamwork competencies in collaborative education, practice, and research settings.MUSC College of Nursing is the only academic health sciences center in South Carolina, and thus we are on the cutting edge of health care practice, education and discovery. At MUSC, we have the largest accelerated BSN degree nursing program in South Carolina, and thriving enrollment in our DNP, PhD and MSN programs of study. In fact, we are a leader in online graduate education, and in this way the MUSC College of Nursing “Fuels the Nursing Pipeline.”
Our focus is on a very special type of nursing student – one who wishes to excel in the profession. Our College has a long and distinguished history of over 125 years preparing the finest professional nurses who care, cure, and create new knowledge in improving the health of individuals, families, and communities. Most importantly, our nursing graduates assume leadership roles throughout the state and beyond, and actively shape the health care of tomorrow.
This is a truly exciting time for the nursing profession, and a challenging time for health care. The need for nurses has never been greater and the impact we have on the health care system is very powerful. As such, the faculty are fully committed to helping our nursing students achieve their educational goals.
Meet Your Advisor
My name is Arly Douglass, and I serve as the Coordinator for the MSN and DNP Programs. I have my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and I am currently enrolled in Tiffin University's Online Master of Education Program. I have over 12 years of experience in student services ranging from high school to higher education. I will serve as the main contact for any questions you may have throughout the program. I assist with your program plan of study, registration, clinical placement, graduation, and other various student needs. I am here to serve you, so please contact me with any questions you may have.
